Freshman Year

Glory Song // Jaanvi Gurung

This original track titled "Glory Song" broke hearts across Colorado with the release of Gurung's freshman album, Mercury Minded. It exemplifies her combination of social conscience with engaging honesty and compelling expression. She says, "When I penned Glory Song, I was at an incredibly naive age where everything was about the news. News everywhere, everyone was getting their info AND mojo from news. A few years later, it's still the same. What's different is I'm at the age where I truly do understand the gravity of dismay and violence in this world, and that the media still controls everything the same way it has for literal centuries."

Ubi Caritas // Allegro Choir, 2017

In May of 2017, Jaanvi was the first freshman in Skyline history to be accepted into the upper level mixed choir, Allegro. This piece, titled "Ubi Caritas," was one of the most mentally taxing yet beautiful Latin pieces Jaanvi has ever worked on to date.
